The District of Katepwa is a thriving resort village in the beautiful Qu'Appelle Valley approximately 95 km North-East of Regina, SK. Throughout the District, there are a number of amenities including golf courses, trail networks, parks, and beaches.

Work is underway on the Sandy Beach Tennis Court revitalization project.![]()
The project includes:
✔️ New uniform-height fencing
✔️ Energy-efficient court lighting
✔️ Asphalt improvements in select grassed areas surrounding the courts![]()
Please note that the existing fencing has been removed and will be reinstalled once construction is complete. Temporary interruptions and restricted access to the area may occur while work is underway.![]()

🚧 Trail Closure Notice – Trans Canada Trail 🚧![]()
Starting Wednesday, May 27, sections of the Trans Canada Trail will be temporarily closed due to paving work.![]()
The affected area is approximately 2 km in length, from north of the condos on Highway 56 to Sandy Beach. Closures will apply only to this section until the work is complete to allow crews to safely complete the paving project.![]()
We appreciate your patience and cooperation while these improvements are completed. Please obey all signage and barriers in the area.![]()
We will post an update once the project is complete.

The dog park is now back open following the completion of the gopher control treatment.![]()
⚠️ Please continue to use caution in the area and do not allow pets to eat any dead gophers that may still be present.![]()

The District Office is receiving calls regarding multiple dead birds on properties within the District.![]()
If you encounter sick or dead birds, fish, or wildlife, please report them to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment at 📞 1-800-567-4224 for further instruction.![]()
As a general precaution:
• Avoid direct contact with sick or dead birds, fecal droppings, and body fluids
• Keep children and pets away from carcasses or sick animals
• Wear heavy-duty rubber gloves, dish gloves, latex gloves, or double latex gloves if handling a dead bird
• Leak-proof plastic bags may also be used as gloves
• Ensure the bird’s bill and claws do not puncture gloves or bags during handling
• An N95 mask or equivalent may also be worn for added protection![]()
If the carcass is not being submitted for evaluation, double bag the carcass and dispose of it in your regular garbage.![]()

➡️ The bolded “TOTAL” amount in the middle of the notice is your full 2026 property tax balance owing.![]()
💲 Early Payment Discount
The May and June amounts shown at the bottom of the notice reflect the discounted total if payment is received by the end of those respective months.![]()

The discount applies only to the Municipal portion of the current taxes and does not apply to the School portion.![]()
📅 Property taxes are due October 31, 2026.![]()
